Sweet Chili Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/3 Cup Rice Vinegar
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 1/3 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Sambal Oelek Or to Taste
- – Or 1 to 2 Teaspoons Dried Red Chili Flakes
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Garlic Grated
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Grated
- 1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 2 Teaspoons Cornstarch Dissolved in 1 Tablespoon Water
- 1 to 2 Drops Red Food Coloring Optional
Instructions
- Place all ingredients except cornstarch slurry in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring regularly.
- Slowly whisk in cornstarch mixture and continue to cook for approximately 1 minute or until thickened.
- Remove from heat and cool sauce completely.
- Store in an air tight jar in the refrigerator. Makes approximately 1 cup.
