And while Taco Bell isn’t exactly haute cuisine, I do occasionally enjoy a taco supreme or a bean burrito. So here’s a copycat recipe of their red sauce that you can use to make bean burritos or pintos & cheese.” – April Ferre
Red Sauce (a’la Taco Bell)
Ingredients
- 8 Ounces Tomato Sauce
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
- 2 Teaspoons Cumin
- 2 Teaspoons Onion Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Paprika
- 1/4 Teaspoon Sugar
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Best made a day in advance to allow flavors to blend.
