Ginger-Garlic Dipping Sauce

“I found this recipe when looking for a Burmese Yellow Tofu recipe. The tofu part of the recipe was a disaster (I later found one that worked), but this sauce is definitely a winner! It would also be excellent served with Spring Rolls.” – April Ferre

Ginger-Garlic Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 6 Cloves Garlic Finely Minced
  • 4 Teaspoons Ginger Grated
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Sambal Oelek or Chili-Garlic Sauce
  • – or 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
  • 1 Teaspoon Cornstarch Dissolved in 2 Teaspoons Water
  • 2 Green Onions Finely Chopped

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, oil, vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger and chili sauce or flakes.
  • Bring to a boil the reduce heat and whisk in cornstarch slurry. Continue to cook until thickened.
  • Cool the sauce and then stir in green onion.
