Fancy Apple-Hazelnut Rolls

Fancy Apple-Hazelnut Rolls

Course: Rolls, Yeast Breads

Ingredients

  • Basic White Bread or Roll Dough
  • Butter Melted
  • Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture
  • Apple Chopped
  • Hazelnuts Toasted & Chopped
  • Powdered Sugar Glaze
  • Sliced Almonds Toasted, Optional

Instructions

  • Prepare bread dough through its first rise. Punch down dough. Shape 2-ounces of dough into 4-inch squares.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place apple and hazelnuts into the center of each square.
  • Fold corners to center and seal tightly. Place rolls on cookie sheets and allow to rise until doubled in bulk.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and baste with more melted butter. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
  • When cool, drizzle with powdered sugar glaze and sprinkle with more toasted hazelnuts or sliced almonds.
