Powdered Sugar Glaze

“We usually just eyeball this recipe when we need a glaze for a cake or cinnamon rolls, but here is a nice set of measurements that makes enough for a good sized coffee cake.” – April Ferre

Powdered Sugar Glaze

Course: Frostings & Fillings


  • 3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Butter
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Almond Extract
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk


  • Place the first five ingredients in a glass measuring cup.
  • Heat milk in a small microwave container until boiling and immediately add to measured ingredients. Stir with a knife or small spatula until smooth.
  • Drizzle over cake while it is still hot.
