Sourdough Starter

Course: Yeast Breads


  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 2 Cups Warm Water
  • 1 Package (2 1/4 Teaspoons) Dry Yeast
  • 2 Cups Milk


  • Mix together 2 cups flour, water and yeast. Let set overnight in a warm place.
  • To use the starter. Add milk and 2 cups flour. Beat well and let sit overnight.
  • Keep 1/2 cup starter for future use in a pint jar in the refrigerator. Wash jar thoroughly after each use.
