Chocolate Frosting

  • 1/4 Cup Shortening, Butter or Margarine Melted
  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar


  • Combine melted shortening, cocoa, and salt. Add milk and vanilla.
  • Mix in sugar in 3 parts. Mix until smooth, creamy, and of desired consistency. Add more sugar to thicken or more milk to thin.
