Bratwurst with Red Cabbage

Bratwurst with Red Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 Small Head Red Cabbage Shredded (approximately 8 Cups)
  • 2 Apples Peeled, Cored & Diced
  • 1/2 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Caraway Seeds
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 4 to 5 Medium Red Potatoes Quartered
  • 3 to 4 Medium Carrots Peeled & Sliced
  • 4 Bratwurst

Instructions

  • Place cabbage and apples in slow cooker.
  • Stir together vinegar, sugar, caraway seeds, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Pour over cabbage.
  • Add red potatoes, carrots and bratwurst on top of cabbage.
  • Cook on high 3 to 3 1/2 hours or on low for 7 hours.

Notes

I cut this recipe in half and it works beautifully.
