Bratwurst with Red Cabbage
Ingredients
- 1 Small Head Red Cabbage Shredded (approximately 8 Cups)
- 2 Apples Peeled, Cored & Diced
- 1/2 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Caraway Seeds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
- 4 to 5 Medium Red Potatoes Quartered
- 3 to 4 Medium Carrots Peeled & Sliced
- 4 Bratwurst
Instructions
- Place cabbage and apples in slow cooker.
- Stir together vinegar, sugar, caraway seeds, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Pour over cabbage.
- Add red potatoes, carrots and bratwurst on top of cabbage.
- Cook on high 3 to 3 1/2 hours or on low for 7 hours.
Notes
I cut this recipe in half and it works beautifully.
