Beef Gravy (No Drippings Method)

Course: Sauces & Gravies

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Red Wine Optional
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • Cornstarch & Water Slurry
  • Salt & Pepper To Taste

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, melt butter.
  • If you have any drippings from the pan you cooked your beef in, deglaze with red wine or a little broth and then add to the saucepan along with the rest of the beef broth.
  • Bring to a simmer, reduce slightly and then thicken your gravy to the desired consistency with the cornstarch slurry.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
