Apple & Sausage Rice Stuffing
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 Pound Ground Italian Sausage
- 1 Medium Onion Diced
- 2 Stalks Celery Diced
- 1 Large Apple Peeled, Cored & Diced
- 2 Cups Long-Grain White Rice Such as Jasmine, Cooked
- 1/2 Teaspoon Sage
- 1/2 Teaspoon Thyme
- 1/2 Teaspon Salt Or to Taste
- 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper Or to Taste, Optional
- 1/4 Cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth
- 1/4 Cup Fresh Parsley Chopped, Optional
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat butter over medium high heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned.
- Add the onion, celery and apple and cook until softened.
- Stir in rice, sage, thyme, salt and pepper. Pour in the broth and cook for approximately 3 minutes to combine flavors.
- Remove from heat and stir in parsley, if desired.
Notes
Leftover rice may be used in this recipe. If using leftover rice, add additional broth, 1 Tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is achieved (approximately 1 to 3 tablespoons.)
