Ruth’s Orange-Cinnamon Christmas Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Flour Sifted
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 3 Teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 1 Egg Separated
- 1 Teaspoon Orange Rind Shredded
- 1 12-Ounce Package Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 Cup Nuts Chopped
- 2/3 Cup Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
Instructions
- Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and cinnamon. Add butter, shortening, egg yolk, and orange rind. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Shape into 1-inch balls and dip in slightly beaten egg white and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place on a greased, non-stick cookie sheet and flatten balls slightly.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Allow to cool slightly on cookie sheet before carefully removing to a wire rack.
