Bon Bon Cookies

  • 1 Cups Dates Finely Cut
  • 1/2 Cup Walnuts Chopped
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • Red & Green Food Coloring


  • Combine dates, nuts, and vanilla. Form into balls about the size of hazel nuts.
  • Beat egg white and salt until stiff. Gradually add sugar; beat well. Add vanilla. Divide in half. Add one drop green food coloring to one half and one drop red food coloring to the other.
  • Using two teaspoons, roll balls in meringue, swirl top. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 30 cookies.
