7-Layer Casserole

Course: Main Courses – Beef, Main Courses – Casseroles

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Uncooked Rice Washed & Drained
  • 1 Cup Canned Whole Kernel Corn Drained
  • 2 8-Ounce Cans Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Onion Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Green Pepper Finely Chopped
  • 3/4 Pound Uncooked Ground Beef
  • 4 Strips Bacon Cut In Half
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  • Using a 2-quart baking dish with a tight-fitting lid, combine ingredients in the following layers:

Layers:

  • Rice
  • Corn
  • Sprinkle of salt and pepper, 1 can Tomato sauce and 1/2 cup Water
  • Onion and Green Pepper
  • Ground Beef
  • Sprinkle of salt and pepper, 1 can Tomato sauce and 1/2 cup Water
  • Bacon strips

Bake:

  • Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  • Uncover and bake another 30 minutes longer until bacon is crisped.
  • Makes 4 to 6 servings.
